In one of the villages that is now part of the town, after getting absorbed at some point. Big Summer event, with lots of random small rides, archery, and music playing. It's in this lovely medium sized park near the centre of the village.

I walked by several times. Didn't see much point in paying a few pounds to go in, especially since it was mostly small kids / pre-teens / teenagers with their parents, plus the stuff didn't look that much fun. About 200 there. At one point, they started playing some loud Taylor Swift.

Nice weather for an event like that. Probably fun if you're younger. I saw this girl who looked about 14, possibly 13, who was walking with her friend to the event, and she had a D-cup chest. Pretty disturbing. Back when I was that age, all the girls I knew pretty much had B-cups. She had a smart phone as well, sadly.

I was probably too poor to get in, anyway.

kidou senshi gundam; extreme vs full boost
nba 2k18

you really can't go wrong with this list.

It's hard to know where to start.

It shouldn't be GTA V, but GTA III; it shouldn't be MGS V, but MGS 1, if anything; Monster Hunter World really isn't that important. Various other games probably aren't important enough to be there. I assume this list was posted as a joke, but I'm not sure.

It's like saying Warcraft is an extremely important game. I mean, it's important, and quite popular, but it's not a seminal work or anything. It we're talking RTS games, then Dune II and the original Command and Conquer are the big ones. You know, I can't believe that South Koreans still apparently play a lot of Warcraft. It's something like 15 years old.

Starcraft would be the god of all RTS influences.

Just FYI.

Why? How many sequels did it get? One. How many did the original Command and Conquer get? Six, I think. Plus all the spinoffs. I think that you were "got to" by the South Koreans. Starcraft is an imporant game, yes, but it's not as important as some stuff. Besides, it's a PC game, and this is meant to be a list of console games only.

This covers a number of things, I guess. How well you're doing in your education / career, how well you do with the opposite or same sex, whether you have many friends or not, and so on. I think people are quite distinct, in this regard. There isn't much inbetween; they tend to mostly be successful, or unsuccessful.

Post about your life, and comment on how things are going. I suppose CE is probably a mix of winners and losers, since some people seem to be doing very well, at least in career terms, and other seem to fail frequently (like me).

I think Shenmue is worth a shout. It never got as popular as some of the games on the list, but it was definitely influential in terms of the scope of the game, the details and the way the world changed and grew, but it was also the first game with a budget of the scale it had (estimated around $50-80m back in 1998 iirc). Not to mention it can probably be attributed as popularising QTEs.

The only real answer.

You know, I hadn't even thought of that. I must admit, I really enjoyed that game...HOWEVER, there weren't enough DCs in circulation for many people to have played the game, plus, it didn't seem to influence future games much. I can only think of one Shenmue style game (other than Shenmue 2, obviously), and that's Heavy Rain.

How is it? Great game for sure, but I don't see anything particularly important about it - yet. Importance in a historical context usually requires some time afterward to effectively judge the role it played in video gaming culture.

I see no reason why it should be included.

I must admit, although it will probably be pretty influential, it's too soon to say. But the strength of the game to actually play it, and how well people have responded...that's why I put it on the list.

-Neither of them are price makers

By being so strong. Like any monopoly. Clearly it's hard to compete a company that is A. very strong, and B. predates your potential new company by at least 10 years. This is why anti-monopoly laws exist, because it's hard for new companies and private citizens to smash apart monopolies. You disagree with this?

An important aspect of a monopoly is that it creates barriers of entry into the market. Neither youtube or amazon can do anything to stop competitors from entering the market because any random person can start their own website whenever they want.

I don't see how an online monopoly is any different from a brick-and-mortar monopoly in that regard. Amazon and YouTube are still making it harder for other people to join the market, and are doing a great job at squeezing out people who are already in the market. Just like a massive chain of stores without any real competition does.

Seriously. Listen to this.

One of the most important aspects of Western business law and a precept of society, is that companies aren't allowed to create monopolies. Monopolies are, of course, good for businesses, but very bad for society. They drive up prices, and force people to get products or services from one company, which gives the company too much control over the people who use it. When a company grows so major (read: dominating), a Western country's government will usually make moves to break it up. One example of this, although not a particularly successful one, is the American government and Microsoft, back in the early 2000s.

Okay. Baring all of that in mind, why are Amazon and YouTube allowed to exist, or at least, in their current forms? The vast majority of online purchases in the Western World seem to be done through Amazon. Most people never seem to even use other websites, ever. As for YouTube, the the majority of non-pornography video streaming seems to happen with it. Why is this allowed?
